Nowadays, and already for some time, we are trying to give answers to the challenges we are facing concerning our growing mobility needs. Nevertheless, our roads are clogged up and the economic and ecological impact on our environment requires intensive efforts and innovative solutions. Vias institute therefore wants to contribute to a reduction of the traffic jams and an optimisation of the mobility in collaboration with the citizens, companies, universities and governmeeit.
In 1972, 3101 people died on the Belgian roads. In 2016, the number of fatalities still amounted to 637. Vias institute carries out research and develops knowledge on road safety.
